What is Passport?

A Passport is non other than a travel document issued by the country's government to its citizens. In India, Passport is issued by Ministry of External Affairs. Passport also serves as an identity document of the holder within its own country as well as in foreign countries. Passport contains the details of Name, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, nationality, gender, Photograph and signature.

Different Types Of Passport in India -

b. Diplomatic Passport -


Diplomatic Passport is Maroon in color, and is issued to Indian diplomats, top ranking government officials and diplomatic couriers. It is a "Type D" passport with D stands for Diplomatic.


c. Official Passport - 


Official Passport is White in color, and is issued to individuals representing the Indian government on official business. It is a "Type S" passport, S stands for Service.
